'Shop around' for life insurance quotes
August 31, 2010
Comparing life insurance quotes is a simple way to save money.
It is a good idea for consumers searching for a life insurance policy to compare as many quotes as possible.
This is the view of OfficialWire columnist Richard Bond, who stated that rates can be highly variable and the most effective way to find the best deal is by shopping around.
"Aim for at least five quotes before making a decision to buy," he explained.
"This will expose you to different rates because different companies charge different rates for the same policies."
He added that people who do not smoke or consume much alcohol can expect to get offered cheaper life insurance premiums as they are seen as less of a risk by policy providers.
According to Datamonitor's recently published FS Consumer Insight survey, only around 32 per cent of Brits have taken out a life insurance policy - lagging behind the global average of 44 per cent of people, reported Companiesandmarkets.com.
