'Tell your life insurance provider' if you quit smoking
September 09, 2010
Life insurance becomes a lot cheaper when you give up cigarettes, it has been advised.
People who have given up on cigarettes should be able to get cheaper life insurance premiums.
The Irish Independent's Tina Leonard explained that cutting out the habit can have more than just physical benefits to a person.
She pointed out there are also financial advantages, with potential savings of thousands in terms of annual life insurance premiums for non-smokers.
"If you've given up the fags, be sure to tell your life insurance provider," Ms Leonard advised.
Earlier this week, similar advice was given by Bill Stanley, money coach for the Colorado Connection website.
He explained that non-smokers can expect to be offered cheaper life insurance quotes by providers, but added that people who maintain the habit should still seek out cover.
Mr Stanley went on to warn that smokers with dependents who decide not to get life insurance because of concerns about the cost are putting their families at "great risk".
